KONAMI's METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS (MGS4) received the Grand Award in the Games of the Year Division^*1 at the Japan Game Awards 2009.

The Japan Game Awards, a video game industry tradition since 1996, is sponsored by the Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA) with an eye to fostering the field of computer entertainment software as both an art form and industry.

MGS4, the thrilling action game with its underlying anti-war and anti-nuclear arms message, was released to the global market on June 12th, 2008. The METAL GEAR series has sold over 27 million copies^*2 worldwide.
